Flashback friday: 5 MGR signature activities

The onset of the pandemic has undeniably led us to some of the most routinary daily activities. Wake up early, prepare breakfast, beat the deadlines, sometimes skip lunch due to the hectic work schedule, before we know it, it’s time for bed again. It has been like this for months: a quick break won’t hurt, right? But the onset of the pandemic continues to claim more and more lives by the day, this is not the time to take chances. 

The Malagos Garden Resort cannot wait to open our doors to you again! But the circumstances simply won’t allow us to do that yet. For the meantime, here are the top 5 best events in Malagos to remember us by:

Handuraw sa Baul. This activity is for people who love the arts and music. We made sure to invite local artists to feature in this event because what better way to celebrate the arts than with those who make one where we are, right? So far we were able to invite Clara Benin, CRWN, Autotelic, December Avenue, Butta B, Loop, Anne Mendoza, The Sound of 60, and many more. You jived with us to their beat and rocked the entire Malagos to its core! You chose to celebrate Halloween with us and bravely conquered the Old Bell Terror House and the chilling local movies from the Ngilngig Film Festival. 

Malagos Bird Shows. Owls, Eagles, Goose, Parrots, Ostrich, you came to see them to do their amazing tricks every Sunday! This is one Malagos Garden Resort event that kids absolutely love. But as you already know, what sets us apart is our need to share with you the importance of nature. This is why you can see our Bird Show master, Dr. Bo guiding the birds into unique tricks like disposing garbage and saving money in a coin bank. Behind each trick is a story that revolves around what we can all do to help our nature strive. It is best for kids and those who are kids by heart.  

Malagos Animal Shows. You were up close and personal with our animals! You were able to pet our chubby bunnies, feed our goats, and play with our little ponies. You even had the chance to take selfies with them while enjoying your stay with us. Don’t worry, while the resort’s doors are still closed, we still make sure they have all the cuddles and attention they deserve!

Christmas and New Year Events at Malagos. You let us be a part of important celebrations like New Years and Christmas through our annual Christmas treat room packages. You partied with us all night as we welcomed Christmas and New Year’s Eve with special music to serenade you through the night. 

Kadayawan. At times when you wanted to be away from the City and all the festivities that came with Kadayawan, you chose to be with us. You availed our annual Kadayawan discounted room rates with access to the Bird Feeding domes, Petting Zoo, Butterfly dome, Museo de Mariposa, Mindanao Contemporary Art Gallery, Chocolate Museum. For those of you who chose the day tour, you got to enjoy a lunch buffet and the animal encounter show and the Malagos Kadayawan Bazaar, featuring the best bounty of Davao City: fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, seedlings, Davao delicacies, and souvenir items. For Kadayawan 2020, we are encouraging everyone to stay at home and keep safe. Instead, dig into good food you can easily make through Malagos’ meal kits-- from pasta, cheeseburger, to cookies and brownies, we all made it easier for you!
