The Malagos Chocolate Museum is the first of its kind in the Philippines. We have opened our doors to the public in 2017 with a vision of taking guests to a complete tree-to-bar experience. Each cacao bean has a story to tell. From its origins all the way to the process of it becoming one sweet treat you’ll enjoy, the chocolate museum is a place wherein you can weave the stories together. The Malagos Davao Chocolate museum is an important reminder not only to us but to each and every Dabawenyo that nothing is impossible. From the long lost forgotten art of chocolate making in the regions, we were able to bring it back to life and went the extra mile to put our City and our country in the chocolate map of the world.

Recently, Davao City was declared as the Cacao Capital of the Philippines as we continue to be the top producer of cacao beans for the entire region. According to Sun Star Davao, “The total yield reached 2, 289. 74 metric tons last year. The declaration was made following the consistent production of high quality beans in Davao Region that has contributed more than 70 percent to the national production.” Due to the onset of the pandemic, the Malagos Garden Resort, one of the best resorts in Davao City,  had to close our doors for your safety. But very soon, you can enjoy experiences refined by nature with us once again. For the meantime, here are some nostalgic memories of the Chocolate Museum:

Beanie, the Malagos Chocolate mascot. Who can not remember Beanie and his exciting interactive stories about chocolates and where each one came from? It was a fun experience to both the young ones and the young at heart!

Malagos Chocolate Museum Cafe. A cafe full of nothing but pure Malagos chocolate! It was a big hit especially for sweet lovers out there. With our healthy offers and rich, creamy taste in every bite, it most certainly is a taste to remember.

Malagos Chocolate Tree to Bar Tour. This is an educational guide tour from the cacao farm wherein you can see up close and personal each of our cacao trees and some of our local farmers at work. In here, we walk you through the intricate process of chocolate making. From the trees all the way to chocolate bars, discover what it takes to make your favorite local flavors into one sweet gift by nature. Learn about the different colors of cacao and make your own Malagos chocolate (complete with all your favorites) at the end of the tour to take home.

The Malagos Chocolate museum is only one of the many Malagos Garden Resort activities you can enjoy in the area. From exploring nature, biking under the shade of huge trees, interacting with farm animals, horseback riding, the world beyond the Chocolate Museum is something you have to see and experience for yourself. Very soon, we will see each other again. We have a lot of new surprises in store for you! Reconnect, reground, and reexperience nature with us once again.
