The Malagos Koi Cafe

Everyday 6AM-10AM | 5PM-9PM

Raised in a home where good food was always the heart of family gatherings, the Puentespina siblings were amongst the pioneers of artisan dining in metro Davao. Their fondness for homegrown cuisine, acquired from the skilled hands and refined taste of their father, Roberto G. Puentespina, was what ignited a culinary passion that would span generations.

Starting out as an al fresco dining when Malagos Garden Resort opened its doors in 1994, Koi Cafe would greet in-house guests to scrumptious breakfast feasts. At night, the cafe’s subdued lighting and ambient music beckons for a tranquil dinner where they can enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding landscapes and colorful koi fishes. Since then, Koi Cafe bore witness to a host of heartwarming proposals, solemn wedding vows, and many more stories of love and life, where the guests’ and the Puentespina family’s shared love for good food is always celebrated.

Today, Koi Cafe has been refurbished to accommodate diners who wish to get a taste of Malagos Homegrown Flavors. The restaurant’s main entrees celebrate a medley of flavors, all prepared by hand with farm-fresh ingredients grown and curated locally – from traditional Filipino cuisine, a variety of Asian recipes, to Western-inspired specialties.
